JIM GOLDEN "El Capitan"

Jim, owner and proprietor, of the Sports Den since 1984. An avid sportsman, Jim has been an Alaskan resident since 1980. You can be sure that he'll take every step possible to make certain that your Alaskan adventure is something you'll tell friends about for years to come.

A year around resident of Alaska, Jim is an active participant in the local and state affairs of Alaskan sport fishing. Appointed by the Governor to represent sportsmen in the Cook Inlet, Kenai, Anchorage, and Matanuska Valley area, Jim served on the board of the Oil Development Advisory panel.

Past and present positions include:

  • Board of Directors, Kenai River Sport Fishing, Inc.
  • Chairman, Habitat Protection Committee of Kenai River Sport Fishing, Inc.
  • Board member, Kenai Peninsula Tourism Marketing Council
  • Kenai River Advisory Panel
  • Director of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce and member of the Kenai Chamber of Commerce.

MARK TUTER
1996 Alaskan Professional Sportsman of the Year

Awarded by U.S. Senator Ted Stevens and Governor Knowles, Mark was the first recipient of this prestigious award presented for recognition of outstanding performance as a professional sportsman.

Mark and Jim coordinate all guide and client activity.


 

ROY ANDERSON

Long-time Alaskan resident. Proud of fourteen years experience on the Kenai River. Roy has a Ph.D. in Psychology for the Kenai Peninsula School District.

Roy is known for big fish and hot, strong coffee.


AL HOWARD

Long-time Alaskan resident, high school math professor and athletic director. Fifteen years experience on the Kenai River. His smile is infectious, and he'll fish you 'till you drop.
