We exceed your expectations at the Sports Den. Our mission is to ensure that every detail of your Alaskan adventure with us is fun and flawless. That's why our customers return year after year. How do we accomplish this? With special attention to detail and listening to our clients.

Fly-In Fishing

To reach your destination, we provide numerous aircraft choices. Our floatplane fleet includes a DeHaviland Turbo Otter, two DeHaviland Beavers, a Cessna 206, and a Supercub. For unequalled access to remote sites, our float-equipped Bell helicopter can deliver you to areas unimaginable.

Fly-in fishing can often be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is common to see moose, whale, eagle, walrus, black and brown bear on these adventures. Our fly-in guides provide different tackle for the area fished. Fly rods and float tubes are provided for high mountain Rainbows, ultra-lite tackle for Grayling, spin or bait-casting outfits for salmon, and plenty of steel leaders when you're after Northern Pike. Contact us for more information.

River Boats

Kenai River power boats, 20', all come with padded swivel seats, raingear, life preservers, coffee and cocoa. All boats are cleaned daily to assure you the best that we have to offer. Your skipper will be US Coast Guard certified.

Our Kenai River Guides (we call ourselves the Sports Den Fishing Team) will help you become expert in many specialized techniques used to land the variety of Alaska's amazing bounty of fish species.

After one trip with the Sports Den Fishing Team, you'll know everything about "back-bouncing", drifting, "back-trolling" and "plunking" for Alaska's great salmon.

Sports Den Fishing Tackle

Our custom graphite fishing rods, selected for their strength and sensitivity, are available with both left- and right-hand reels. Sports Den fishing reels include Penn, Garcia, and Shimano reels. Each reel is loaded with ANDE Tournament and Big Game Trilene fishing lines, which are certified for line classification submission of World Record Fish.

Halibut Boats

Halibut fishing is a different experience, and requires specialized equipment. Our halibut boats are designed for speed to get you to and from prime fishing locations.

Our smaller halibut boats are 20 foot boats which can handle 4 fishermen. The largest are 55 foot. enclosed cabin fishing vessels for up to 18 guests. Safety and comfort is our primary concern while fishing. Stand-up rods with large 6/0 reels are used for this bait fishery. We also provide fighting belts and plenty of help when you hook up with that "Barn Door".
